welcome...

the plan for this blog is to share our three month journey across the top end of OZ later this year, with our family and friends, most of whom live far away from us. However, it will not only be a recording of our travels, it is also a place where I will record some words and pictures of things that make me happy...just day to day "stuff" that may or may not appeal to you but does make me smile...enjoy...

Almost there...

We are so close to Broome right now I can almost smell the salt air. Broome and the beach. This has been the destination I have been waiting for since we left. I am a coastal person and at times in the last four weeks I have felt slightly claustrophobic in inland Australia. I have enjoyed myself and loved some of the places we have been but I can't wait to see the ocean, smell the air and have sand between my toes instead of red dust...for a while!
We are having one night in Broome and heading south to more beach but we will be back there for FIVE nights of FIVE star!!!!!
However, today we are in Fitzroy Crossing. We drove 650km yesterday to get here and the kids did a great job in the car. You know you've sone a lot of driving when Sam asks Andrew "dad...how many k's today?!"
We have visited the beautiful Geikie Gorge this morning. The kids spotted 35 fresh water crocodiles. The rest of the day has been catching up on jobs and relaxing. There are bush lemon trees here loaded with fruit. Andrew and Auds and Sam picked me some so I am trying to figure out what I will use them for.
The next time I write will be beside the seaside and that is ACE!
Xx
