welcome...

the plan for this blog is to share our three month journey across the top end of OZ later this year, with our family and friends, most of whom live far away from us. However, it will not only be a recording of our travels, it is also a place where I will record some words and pictures of things that make me happy...just day to day "stuff" that may or may not appeal to you but does make me smile...enjoy...

Dreaming of ISA...

So far from home today. I must have known something a few days ago when we tossed up the idea of staying an extra night in Longreach and therefore only having one night in Winton. We arrived in Winton this morning, the home of dinosaur fossils and where Banjo Patterson wrote Waltzing Matilda. Before we got here we got a cracked windscreen(everything happens for a reason). The park we are staying in backs on to a truckstop/roadhouse where smelly cattle trucks stop and when we got here they spent the first hour grading and rolling the dirt infront of our home. I stayed put while ac took the kids to see the dinosaur stuff....made some muffins and have posted the pic of what my view was while making them : / Anyway, because of this we have to hit the rd early tomorrow (hurrah!!!) to get to Mt ISA by 3pm to get a new windscreen. Did you know that Mt ISA has a population of 23,000? I am so excited to be hitting the big smoke! We ate there until Sunday when the stretch of five one night stops in a row starts.
The photos say it all...have even posted pics of our new shared bathroom....and the entertainment for tonight at the park!
Xx
